Confirmation

Preparation for Confirmation is now a 2 year Program and  will be administered in the spring of 2022 for the next classes of 8th and 9th graders.

Confirmation preparation sessions will be conducted on Sunday mornings for both first and second year preparation.  Attached is tentative schedule of confirmation preparation sessions over next two years.  This file as well as other information will be posted on All Saints Parish website (see Religious Education).   www.allsaintsberlin.org.  You will note that sessions are planned for the second Sunday of each month during the school year.  An extra session is included during Lent.  There will also be additional activities which are required as we prepare for Confirmation.

Given recent Covid-19 restrictions, we did NOT proceed with Parent / Confirmand informational meeting on April 26, 2020.  At this time, this information will be covered on Sunday, August 16, 2020 as part of session 1.  Our session will begin at 11:00 am and it is recommended that parents and confirmands attend.  We acknowledge that Covid-19 uncertainties may continue to disrupt or change the way, place and time we prepare for Confirmation.  But we believe it wise to think positively and get these dates secured on families and confirmands calendars.

All Sunday sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. in All Saints Parish Hall.  Beginning at 8:00 a.m. refreshments such as juice, milk, donuts, and fruit will be served until 8:45.  We will meet until 9:45 at which time we will take a short break before we attend Mass together.  Following Mass, we will return to the parish hall for additional refreshments and will complete our Confirmation session activities by noon.

Although Confirmation, as the last Sacrament of Initiation, is an individual choice and responsibility, it is vital for parents to take an active role in your child’s Confirmation preparation.  Our August 15th, 2021 parent meeting session @9:30AM in the Social Hall will be the main opportunity to inform, discuss and review the ASCC program with parents and confirmands.  During this session, we will address Confirmation objectives and requirements, Sponsor guidelines, complete paperwork, answer questions, and present materials used in our sessions.  We will explain why it is ‘Great to be Catholic’ and why Confirmation begins a lifelong journey.  If you cannot make this session, you will need to make special arrangements with Mrs. Wolff and myself to review this information.

Fees for the Confirmation Classes per student is $100. This helps cover the cost of Camp Grey Retreat and Bus Transportation to and from the Retreat, required Confirmation books and prep materials and supplies.
